Reading’s Foodie Scene Expands to Suburbs with Launch of Deliveroo Editions

Deliveroo Editions site opens in Reading, giving locals access to great new restaurant food

Deliveroo, the on-demand food delivery service, has today announced it is opening its latest Deliveroo Editions site in Reading, which will offer delivery to 80,000 Reading and Caversham residents. The Reading Edition will expand Deliveroo's presence, giving many locals access to the scene for the first time.

Deliveroo Editions is a revolutionary platform that enables restaurants to reach new customers without needing a high street premises by providing delivery-only kitchens. Motored by technology, Deliveroo uses its data to identify cuisine gaps in the local market and to predict customer demand to establish which restaurants are likely to succeed in each area.

The Reading Edition will result in increased business for restaurants, better choice for customers and will create even more work opportunities for the 150 riders in the area.

For the first time residents in Caversham and Reading can now enjoy food from:

  • Thali Cafe: award-winning Bristol born restaurant, famed for its traditional Indian thalis
  • Ping Pong: the best of the contemporary Chinese food scene, this London restaurant is coming to its first city outside of London, Reading, through Deliveroo Editions
  • Banana Tree: Indochina restaurant serving authentic dishes from Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore
  • Gourmet Burger Kitchen: handcrafted burgers that are loved across the UK

Commenting on the launch, Rohan Pradhan VP of Deliveroo Editions, said:

"We truly love the food scene in Reading, which is why we're really excited to be opening our Deliveroo Editions site to serve even more locals in the surrounding area.

"We used our unique technology to identify the cuisine gaps in Reading and Caversham, and worked with some of the UK's favourite restaurants to bring them to new customers outside the city centre. This means that locals can now enjoy food they love on Deliveroo, from the comfort of their home. It's great for them, and it's great for our restaurant partners, who we've helped scale to a new area without risk."

Ping Pong CEO, Art Sagiryan, comments:

"These are very exciting times for the Ping Pong family - we're bringing the restaurant to our first town outside of London, Reading, through Editions.

"We are thrilled with the support from our customers and can't wait to bring our delicious Dim Sum to even more people across the country through our partnership with Deliveroo Editions."
